Claire Winkler

Claire Winkler (a 2011 Massaponax theatre alum) graduated cum laude from the University of Mary Washington in May 2015 with honors in English and creative writing. Though she was not a theatre major, she was an active participant in the theatre department, and had roles in several plays including Hedda Gabler and The Miss Firecracker Contest.

She is a 2016 corps member of Teach for America: Indianapolis and teaches fourth grade. She lives in the Broad Ripple area (think Carytown, but smaller) with two roommates, two cats, and her girlfriend who is also named Claire (whatever nickname that just occurred to you is almost definitely not as original as you think it is). She's the co-chair of Any Given Child (AGC) at her school, a foundation partnered with the Kennedy Center that focuses on bringing theatre, music, and visual arts to schools that lack that programming. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, biking, cooking, and investing arguably too much emotional energy into X-Files, Twin Peaks, and Stranger Things.
