ELECTRICITY

  • ELECTRICITY 1: During this 1st year course, you will be orientated to the Electrical Trade, while defining the various section of the electrical industry, to include Residential, Commercial and Industry Wiring.  Instructor will cover such topics as Electricians Tasks, Responsibilities, Aptitudes and Expectations.  A huge component of Electricity 1 is Safety, which includes but not limited to Safe Work Habits, “OSHA”, Electrical Hazards, Safe Work Practices and Equipment Safety.

    ELECTRICITY 2: This course offers an overview of Residential, Commercial and Industrial Electric Construction Wiring.  Topic’s that will be covered included, but not limited to: Blue Prints, Symbols, Diagrams, Residential Wiring Calculations, OHMS Law, Circuits, Motor Theory, Cable, Conductors and Lighting. 

    ELECTRICITY 3: This course highly illustrated design, technical hints and tips from industry experts, review questions and a whole lot more! Key content includes: Alternating Current, Motors: Theory and Application, Electric Lighting, Conduit Bending, Pull and Junction Boxes, Conductor Installations, Cable Tray, Conductor Terminations and Splices, Grounding and Bonding, Circuit Breakers and Fuses, Control Systems and Fundamental Concepts.

    ELECTRICITY 4: This course will be an introduction to the NEC: Demonstrate the proper use of the NEC, especially how to use the index to locate the information for questions on the exam.  This course will also cover preparing you for electrical code test.  Focus is completely based on the current NEC while using teacher and student on the job experience to relate to the code.
