Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University
My name is Dawn D’Addio. I have been a teacher at SCTC for 8 years teaching Introductory to Health and Medical Sciences bring over 24 years worth of nursing experience into the classroom. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in 1988. My prior nursing experience has varied greatly. I was a commissioned officer in the Unites States Army and an active part of the Army Nurse Corps for 6 years after graduating from college. I have worked in several different hospital settings to include medical surgical units, a psychiatric unit, pediatric units, a pediatric intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care units, labor and delivery, a hematology/oncology unit, a hematology/oncology clinic, and home health care. I have also been a school nurse at two different elementary schools and a high school. Prior to teaching at the high school level, I taught both LPN and RN programs to the adults. In 2017, I graduated with a master’s in education to support my teaching endeavors. I love being a teacher at SCTC and believe my job supports the students while I teach them and many years later building that bridge to the student’s future.
