    Happy Monday Wildcat Parents!

Fall is here. The weather is cooler and the clocks have fallen back. It was nice to get an "extra" hour of sleep!

A friendly reminder that Tuesday is a holiday for students. Teachers will have professional learning and a much-needed workday. Our school is also being used as a polling site for elections. I do hope you and your family will enjoy this Election Day holiday together.

Thanks for all that you do to support our school community. Our teachers and all of our staff greatly appreciate each of you!  Our parent community is amazing! Thank you!

Here's to another great week of learning at Wilderness!

    Happy Fall!

The first nine weeks has come and gone. The leaves are turning colors and the weather is feeling cooler and cooler.  The seasons are changing and time is moving on.  Please time slow down so we can enjoy our little wildcats and watch them grow.

It's already the second nine weeks.  Our learners are putting forth effort and meeting the high expectations for learning. Thank you, parents, for the part that you play in supporting not only your child but your child's teacher and our school community.  Each one of you makes a difference.

A special thank you to all of our bus drivers especially this week as we recognize them during Bus Safety Week and on Bus Appreciation Day on Wednesday! There is no other job that can be as challenging yet rewarding as a bus driver.  I am happy to say, our drivers lead with a passion and are dedicated to the families they serve.

We are looking for another exciting and productive week filled with growing minds throughout our school.  Thanks for all you do to foster that growth!

    With wildcat pride and spirit,

    Dear Wildcat Parents!

Happy September! It's the fall time of the year already. This begins our fourth week of school leaving behind those hot days of summer.

I hope everyone was able to enjoy a three day holiday weekend. It's great to have a little extra time to rest and re-energize for the upcoming weeks of school.

Our little wildcats are PuRRing with Pride as we see them rising to our high expectations. With your continued support and our dedicated staff working together, our learners are going to rise to the highest of expectations. Learning is important and for our learners, it's their most important job when they are with us each day.

Be sure to check out the Parent Wildcat Weekly and the other items that are attached! You will be glad you did!

Wilderness is at its BEST with the BEST staff, the BEST students and the BEST parents. Thanks for doing your best to support our student learners each day!

  • Spring Break is Just Around the Corner

Posted by Dianne Holmes on 4/15/2019

    Happy Monday Wildcat Parents!

We appreciate everyone's support as we continue to move forward through the last nine weeks of this school year.  Oh my goodness, this school year has flown by.  It's hard to believe we will only have four weeks of school when we return from spring break.  Yikes!!

Shew...we have made it to the week before spring break!  We know this has been a long awaited spring break, but rest assured, our wildcats have been working hard. With SOL testing season upon us, we must continue to try our best so our wildcats can show what they know.  I am so proud of our students and our staff for working so hard!  They are all amazing!

I wish everyone a restful and fun spring break. If you are traveling, please travel carefully.  Rest and relaxation with my family is what I am looking forward to during my spring break.

  • Spring is Here!

Posted by Dianne Holmes on 4/8/2019

    Happy Beautiful Monday Wildcat Families!

Spring has finally sprung!  It was a beautiful weekend and hopefully the start of many more to come.  I do hope you all were able to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

Tis the season of state testing.  Our teachers and students have worked hard and our students are ready!  Please continue to encourage your child to do their best and help them remember they are more than prepared to show what they know. This can be a stressful time of the year for our students and we want they to know they are valued no matter the outcome of their test scores.  Thanks again for all you do at home to support our wildcats at school.

This month is the Month of the Military Child and also Autism Awareness Month.  Both of these are important to remember and recognize as we all have our differences and challenges each and every day.  We are all unique!

Let's continue to make Wilderness the awesome school that we are and keep showing our wildcat spirit!

    Have a most wonderful week!

    Happy April Fools Day!

What a beautiful weekend!  Spring is finally here!  The blooms of the trees and flowers are a beautiful sight to see!

Be sure to check out the calendars included in the Wildcat Weekly.  This includes ALL of our events until the end of the year.  It's hard to believe that we are already starting April with only three weeks until break followed by the final four weeks of this school year.

Thanks for being so supportive of the teachers and especially to the students.  It does take all of us working together to build the culture of learning with high expectations at Wilderness.  Our students are pretty amazing and deserve the absolute best!

This looks like a terrific week ahead!!

  • Springing Forward

Posted by Dianne Holmes on 3/10/2019

    Good morning Wildcat Parents!

Happy Monday!  What a beautiful summer like day on Sunday.  This definitely makes it feel like spring is just around the corner.  I hope everyone has adjusted to the time springing forward!

The start of the fourth/last quarter begins today! Wow! We only have five more weeks until spring break which means that the end of the school year is not too far off.  This year has flown by.

As we move into the SOL testing season, we appreciate everyone's support by helping your child stay focused on school. With the warmer weather, addition of outside activities which are awesome to participant in, sometimes school work can take a back seat.  As we move forward, our expectations will continue to remain high knowing our students will work hard to meet them.  Teachers are working harder than ever and will do everything they can to help your child be successful.  By working together, we will help our students achieve even more.

Please look closely at the calendar so you are aware of the upcoming events.  We thank our PTA and volunteers for all they do each and every day to support our students and staff.  We are Wilderness!

  • Happy birthday to Dr. Seuss

Posted by Dianne Holmes on 2/24/2019

    Hello Wildcat Parents,

I do hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing weekend.  I'm hoping the cold weather is behind us so we can look forward to a full week of school.  I must say, even with the schedule changes, our little wildcats are making the adjustments.

I have included the calendar dates all the way up to spring break.  This will allow plenty of time to get all of these exciting things on your calendars.

March 11th and April 19th are now regular school days since schools were closed last week due to the weather.  Thanks for making these adjustments on your calendars. We want to make sure all of our little wildcats are in attendance.

We look forward to celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday on Friday.  See this weeks Parent Wildcat Weekly for the Dr. Seuss books being read and the special activities during the spirit week.  Be sure to ask your wildcat about any special readers that might have had on Friday!

    Have a great week ahead!

    With wildcat spirit and pride,

    Dianne Holmes

  • Moving on into February

Posted by Dianne Holmes on 2/12/2019

    Hello Wildcat Parents!

What a busy week we have had already!  The book fair is in full swing and many parents are coming in to volunteer to help out.  Thank you for spending your time with us!  We also appreciate your financial support of the book fair.  Books make a great purchase for our wildcats!

Reading Night was fun and enjoyed by many as we listened to a special guest reader.  A big thank you to Dr. Bell for coming and reading to our wildcats this evening.  The books he read with different expressions were a big hit!

I saw many parents coming in for parent teacher conferences this evening.  Thank you for connecting with your child's teacher and helping support your child in the classroom. You do make a big difference!

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!  Looks like we need to keep out our rain boots!

    With wildcat spirit,
