Meet Mr. Aaron Johnson, Assistant Principal

  • Welcome to Courtland Elementary School!  My name is Aaron Johnson and I am excited to be your assistant principal for the 2019-2020 school year.  I have been fortunate to serve at Courtland Elementary in a different role for the past four years and I look forward to continuing working together, promoting the growth and success of all our students.

I am originally from a small town in Western New York. I am a graduate from The State University of New York at Fredonia, majoring in Elementary Inclusive Education, and I later received my Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Old Dominion University.  Just over 10 years ago I made the move to Virginia to become a fourth grade teacher in Stafford County. After five years of teaching third and fourth grade, I transitioned to Spotsylvania County Public Schools as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher. During my time as an ITRT, I also served as the SCPS Elementary Science Liaison, administrator for Middle School Summer Enrichment, and on numerous district committees.

I currently reside in Spotsylvania County with my wife, Megan, daughter, Mia, our dog, Koda, and our cat, Khaleesi.  As a family, we love being outside, finding new adventures throughout Virginia. I am also a huge sports fan...Let’s Go, Buffalo!

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.  I can be reached by email at ajohnson@spotsylvania.k12.va.us or by calling me at 540-898-5422.
