    New Announcements
    Congratulations to each choir for a wonderful performance at District choir assessment yesterday. Men's Choir and vocal Ensemble received an overall rating of excellent. Our beginning women's choir received a superior rating, which is a first-time and Massaponax history! And our show choir received a superior rating from all judges. Each choir who participated received Superior ratings in the sight reading category. Great job everyone! We are so proud of you!

    Last night Massaponax Girls Varsity took on Brooke Point and came out on top in a 5-0 win over the visiting Blackhawks. Keeper Autumn Dellelis had her third shutout in a row with the help of the defense! Goals were scored by Tyria Smalls, Olivia Farto, and Carleigh Vanreenan. Caitlyn Kirtley had three assists and Nicole Morrow and Kaeleen Johnson each tallied an assist for the Panthers. The Varsity team takes on Riverbend High School at home on Friday night at 7:30pm. Come out and support your Girls Soccer team!

    The boy’s soccer team improved to 2 and 2 last night with a 4-0 route away against Brooke Point. The Panthers were led in scoring by Tareq Al Jumaili who with 2, while Tony Navarrette, Ronald Bonialla each added an additional goal. Gadsoni Abel notched 2 assists, and Vincent McArtor has one assist in addition to the shutout. Come out to support your Panthers this Friday at home as the boys and girls varsity teams take on Riverbend at 5:30.

    Attention all rising 11th and 12th graders as you schedule for classes: Mr Burner is holding a Pride Time meeting soon for any student interested in taking an Independent Study next year. An Independent Study is one of our only courses that gives YOU the opportunity to take control of what and how you learn - email Mr. Burner today if you are interested in learning about a topic that you want to learn about.

    Students interested in applying for a class at the career tech center: Applications are DUE in the school counseling office by April 7th.

    On Monday, the MHS Girls Tennis defeated Brooke Point 8-1 raising their record to 3-2. They play Thursday at Riverbend.  They were led by double winners (singles and doubles) Alexa Brewster, Emily Ochsenknecht, Katherine Sullivan and Maddie McNult. Jenny Reeb and Naveena Deva lost a heart-breaker at #3 doubles 12-10 in a tiebreaker.

    Senior Announcements
    Seniors: Have you been accepted to one or more of the colleges you applied to?Have you decided on what school you will be attending? Stop by the school counseling office to complete a college acceptance form so counselors and counseling office staff can recognize your accomplishments. Congratulations Seniors.

    Attention Senior tennis players. Fredericksburg Area Tennis Patrons is awarding two $800 scholarships to one senior girl, and one senior boy. See the MHS Counseling department or webpage for more information.

    The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office will be awarding (2) separate $500 scholarships to each of the (5) high schools within the county and (1) $500 scholarship to the home school program to promote the education of Spotsylvania County students and give financial support to those attending a two or four year college, a visual or performing arts school, or a vocational/technical school.  See the MHS Counseling website or Naviance for more information and to print the application.

    Previous Announcements
    Purchase discounted tickets for Mary Poppins through Friday, March 31st for $7. After the 31st tickets will be $10. Please see Ms. Kemp in Room 111 to purchase pre-sale tickets or you can go onto Massaponax High's website and purchase them through Ticket Spicket with a credit card.

    Class of 2018! We are going on a JUNIOR ONLY field trip to see a Flying Squirrels baseball game on Friday, May 5th. Tickets will be $20 and will be sold during lunches the first 2 weeks in April. Busses will leave at 5:30pm and will return around 11:00pm. Junior Dues must be paid in order to purchase a ticket. If you have any questions, see Ms. Pfeiffer or Ms. Finnegan.

    If you are taking an AP test this year you MUST attend an AP Bubbling Session on either Tuesday April 11th or Wednesday April 12th in Commons B at 2:30. Please bring a pencil and have a ride home by 3:15.

    This will provide students who have devices, filtered access to the Internet and educational resources while at school.  This access will not utilize your data plan.
