8th Grade Writing SOL Assessment
Dear Parents,
English 8 teachers have been working with 8th grade students in preparation for the Writing SOL assessment.  We know you want your child to be successful on the assessment and so do we.   You can assist us in our efforts for all students to find success by having a conversation with your child about the SOL.   Discuss with your child the importance of doing his/her best on the SOL assessment.  Encourage your child to get plenty of sleep each night prior to the SOL, to eat a good breakfast each morning, and to bring a book to read after he/she finish testing.
The dates for the two-part assessment are:
March 28 - Direct Prompt
March 29 - M/C section
