    Announcements – September 27, 2019

Setting goals in life are important for all of us.  Today we congratulate Ms. Knowlton on accomplishing a goal she set for herself.  Today is her 1000th day of running.

The Warriors football team traveled to Spotsylvania Middle yesterday and came away with a 14-8 win. After giving up a touchdown on the opening drive, the Warriors tightened up and kept the Bulldogs out of the end zone for the remainder of the game. The defense was led by Justin Wright who recorded several key plays including a sack and a forced fumble. Our strong defense came at the hands of Juelz Berryman, Rio Santos-Barros, Steve Garland, Emory Padgett, Naikwon Jackson, Deion Berry and Mark Smetek. Rio’s sack in the last play of the game secured the win. Naikwon Jackson led the offense with 151 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries. Justin Wright added a 2 point conversion in the 1st half. Isaiah French’s strong leadership led the team through the rough times in the game. The Warriors are back in action at home on Thursday as they take on Chancellor Middle, the defending county champions. This will be a “free seating at lunch challenge” for students. The grade with the most students in attendance wins.

The Lady Warriors basketball team played yesterday at Ni River Middle School.  The Falcons dominated the first half with an 18-10 lead.  However, with a change in defense and a full court press, the Lady Warriors were able to storm back during the 4th quarter and win the game 41 – 32 and increase their record to 5-1.

Our next library Makerspace Monday will be held on Sept. 30 during all lunch shifts. Students may pick up a pass from the library on Monday, Sept. 30 during homeroom. Space is limited to 10 students each shift.
