Mr. Rusty Davis, Principal

Biography:
Mr. Davis is in his 18th year in education. He graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a degree in social studies education. He began his teaching career at Courtland high School teaching World Geography where he also coached wrestling and football. He served as an administrative intern for two years before taking an Assistant Principal position at Massaponax High School. He spent 6 years as Assistant Principal before taking the lead at Spotsy High. He is in his fourth year as Principal.
He resides in Spotsylvania County with his wife and daughters.
Mrs. Latasha Calvin, Assistant Principal

BIOGRAPHY:
Mrs. Calvin is in her 12th year in education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, a Business Education Certification from East Carolina University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati. Mrs. Calvin started her teaching career in North Carolina and also taught for three years at Courtland High School in Spotsylvania County. Mrs. Calvin has also served as an administrator in California and South Carolina.
Mrs. Calvin currently resides in Spotsylvania County with her husband, two children, and Shih Tzu.
Mr. Jon Patterson, Assistant Principal

BIOGRAPHY:
Mr. Patterson is in his 14th year in education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Longwood College and his Master's in Administration and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. He began his teaching career in Hanover County at Atlee High School where he taught Social Studies for eight years while also coaching football. Mr. Patterson came to Spotsylvania County in 2007 where he served as an Administrative Intern for one year at Chancellor High. Mr. Patterson joined the administrative team here at Spotsy High in 2008 where he has served for the past 5 years as Assistant Principal.
Mr. Patterson resides in the Richmond area with his wife and two children.
Ms. Michelle Hart, Instructional Coordinator

BIOGRAPHY:
Ms. Hart is in her 17th year in education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the State University of New York College at Fredonia and her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. She began her teaching career at King George High School where she taught math for 6 years. She then came to Spotsylvania County and Courtland High School. She taught math there for 4 years and coached swimming. Ms. Hart left Courtland to join the administrative team at Spotsylvania High School in 2006 where she serves at the Instructional Coordinator and has also coached swimming. She resides in Spotsylvania County.
Ms. Edwina Daniel, Guidance Director

BIOGRAPHY:
Ms. Daniel is in her 15th year in education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Virginia Commonwealth University and her Masters Degree in Counseling Education from Virginia State University. She also has an endorsement in Administration and Supervision. She began her counseling career with the Mattamuskeet School (Hyde, NC). She worked as a counselor for Franklin High School (Franklin, VA) and the Department of Correctional Education (Richmond, VA). She also spent a year as an Assistant Principal/Administrative Assistant for Bowling Green Elementary School (Caroline, VA). Ms. Daniel came to join the administrative team at Spotsylvania High School in 2004 where she serves as the Counseling Director. She resides in Caroline County.
Mr. Buddy Herndon, Activities Director

DUTIES:
Mr. Herndon is in his 18th year in the field of education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wake Forest University with a major in Latin and minor in Education. He has taught Latin in Virginia and North Carolina. Mr. Herndon came to Spotsylvania County in 2001 as a Latin teacher and basketball and tennis coach. Mr. Herndon joined the administrative team here at Spotsylvania High in 2005 where he has served as Athletic/Activities Director
Mr. Herndon resides in the Caroline County with his wife, Lindsay and son, Malcolm.
