New NEWS
*Congratulations to the boys 4x800 relay of Will Young, Bruce Garth, Nate Lasker, and Garrett Horne who placed 3rd at Districts and qualified for the Regional Championship!
* Any rising senior signed up to take AP Literature or Dual Enrollment English next year needs to sign up for one of the informational meetings during Bear Block on May 23rd or May 30th. Summer assignment information will also be distributed at those meetings.
* Attention ALL Bears!
Yearbooks will go on sale Thursday, May 16th during all lunches. Pre-ordered yearbooks may also be picked up at this time. Yearbooks will remain available through the end of the school year.
*There will be a National Honor Society today after school in room 142. We will be electing officers so it is important that you be there. There will be a makeup meeting in room 142 on Friday morning at 7:15.
*All Latin Club members going on the trip to Busch Gardens on Saturday are reminded that the bus will depart from RHS at 7:30. Please see Mr. Keith in the Latin Room, if you have any questions.
*All Latin students who are being recognized at Tuesday evening's Latin Awards and Dessert Night are reminded to let Mr. Keith know that you will be attending, how many family members will be attending, and what dessert you will be bringing. Please see Mr. Keith in the Latin Room, if you have any questions!
* The library will be open before and after school ONLY May 17th - 22nd for testing. Students will not be admitted during classes or lunch.

*Students who are scheduled to take an Independent Study Course next year---the proposal deadline has been extended until Friday, May 17. Proposals are turned in to Mrs. Mann in the office beside room 254.

Memory Bricks
Reserve a prominent place for yourself in history by buying a personalized memory brick to be placed in the new “memory lane” in front of the Riverbend High School Stadium
You may purchase a brick in your name or for a child, a friend, a company, a teacher, or someone you’ve always admired for whom you wish to do something special. Purchase a memory brick in honor of your high school graduate. Personalized bricks make unique gifts for friends and relatives that last a life time.
Your support for the Riverbend High School band program is an ongoing special and permanent way to contribute to our school. Please fill out the order form that was sent home with your student and enclose your check or money order made payable to RHSBPA (memo: memory brick) and drop it in the “memory brick” box in the Riverbend High School front office. Or, you may visit www.riverbendband.org to place your secure order. Extra order forms may be found in the front office. Deadline for orders is May 5, 2013. Questions? Email rhsmemorybrick@gmail.com.

*Looking for a new "Attractions Dining and Value Guide" coupon book for the Fredericksburg area? These books are filled with hundreds of dollars in coupons good for restaurants, stores and services in our region. Your Riverbend Boys Basketball Boosters club is selling them! Just contact Mary Lyon at 540-845-2411 or Sha Hinnant at 540-287-1017. The books are only $25.00 and the proceeds will go towards purchasing new gear for the three boys teams.
CLUB NEWS
*The Drama Club will hold their final meeting on Monday May 20th directly after school in room 52. It will last until 3:15 to please plan accordingly. A Thespian Meeting will follow the Drama Club meeting.
*Hey DECA Students! Our end of the year banquet has been re-scheduled for Thursday, May 16th during bear block. Only members who have earned 200 DECA diamond points may attend. Please ask your teacher to pull you for the banquet if you plan on attending. You may still bring a dish to the event but it must be a dessert, appetizer, or drink to share!
*Is there a club you'd like to start? The first step is to find a sponsor and 10 interested students. Fill out the application in SCORE/RHS Community Group/A+ How to Start a Club Folder. If/when approved, the club can start in September.
Get your application for a new club in by May 31. See Mrs. Keith in the library if you have questions.
CLASS NEWS
*Seniors, please return library books and materials by the 17th. If you have a particular need to keep things longer, see library staff.
* All Juniors taking AP Government next year, please turn your Summer Seminar Form into Mr. Wessel in room 144 ASAP. You will be dropped from the course if this is not done by the end of the year.
