Announcements

  • It's that time of year again! Time for everyone at RE Lee - students, teachers, para-educators, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria staff, administration - yes, everyone! - to read one book TOGETHER! The festivities began with our annual Family Reading Night on Thursday, Jan 22; continued with two weeks of clues to help students guess which book we would be reading;  and then culminated in the unveiling of the book and the Kick-Off Assembly last Friday, Feb. 6! "Kenny and the Dragon" by Tony DiTerlizzi is our ONE SCHOOL, ONE BOOK selection for this year, and each RE Lee family received a copy to read together (courtesy of our PTA!).

There are so many fun ways to engage in ONE SCHOOL, ONE BOOK! Students will have an opportunity to bring home a stuffed dragon or rabbit and a journal to record their family's evening activities. Classes compete in a daily "Kenny and the Dragon" trivia question. Families can complete a book scavenger hunt for a chance to win a Barnes and Noble gift card.  Students can create their own Kenny or Grahame or any other character form the book using any medium, and they may also add a scale to the dragon in the cafeteria with one of many vocabulary words found in their nightly reading!

For the next three weeks, we'll be deeply immersed in this wonderful story! Join us as the tale unfolds..
