INFORMATION REGARDING DATA EXPOSURE
Spotsylvania County School’s 2009 and 2010 W2 data exposure was first reported on December 23, 2011, by an employee.  The School Division began posting W2s online January 2010.  Although this information was potentially able to be seen because the default setting in the program coding allowed for search access; the time that it was captured by the Google web crawler and made searchable within their search engine has not been determined.  It is important to note that this information could not be viewed by a global search and specific search criteria needed to be entered in order for the information to come up during a search.  At this time, we are working with Google to determine when the Google Web Crawler accessed the information.
